How To Fix Pony/Barbie Hair

My daughter is currently obsessed with My Little Pony, she has a ton of ponies and accessories. They are pretty expensive toys so whenever we go to Goodwill I am always looking for them. I came across this huge pony for $1.99 the other day and I snapped it up. It was in almost perfect condition, after a quick bath of course, except for her hair. Her hair was a tangled mess!

I did a quick online search and found that people were using Downy mixed with water to tame the frizz but I didn't have any Downy on hand so instead I tried using hot water. It worked wonderfully and it was a super quick fix.

I filled a cup with hot water and I soaked the hair in the water for 2 minutes. Starting from the top I began to brush the knots out. You can see in the above picture the difference in the hair once it has been soaked and brushed. Repeat this process until you have combed all the knots out.

The type of brush you use also makes a big difference. I started using the red brush but that was taking forever. Once I switched to the pink brush I was able to cover more hair in a short period of time.

Once I was done I decided to braid her hair to keep it more manageable. Of course my daughter ripped it out the next morning! You can use this trick to fix Barbie hair as well.
