Spiderman Doll Sew Along Day 3

Sorry it took me so long to write this last day of the sew along but bronchitis has hit my house hard and I haven't had much time left for blogging. So without further ado, the last day of the sew along. Since you have all downloaded the free pattern you should have the directions that came along with it. Instead of rewriting everything today I will tell you which steps to follow and which ones are different. I will also add some helpful hints I learned while making this doll. Let's begin!

Assembling the Spiderman Doll (based on the Molly Monkey pattern)
1. Skip step 1.
2. Follow step 2 using pieces arm/glove and leg/shoe.
3. Follow step 3 as described. Please note Do NOT STUFF the doll yet. If you do, like I mistakenly did, you will regret it when you attach the arms/legs to the body.
4. Skip step 4.
5. Follow step 5 except you won't be slipping the tail in place.
6. Since we added an extra 1/4 inch to the shirt front piece we will need to adjust the back. Place the shirt back and shirt front right sides together and trim any excess fabric that remains. This will make sewing easier. Follow step 6.
7. Follow step 7 except you will only need to baste the arms and legs in place. Make sure you use the correct color thread.
8. Follow step 8.
9. Follow step 9.

That's it your doll is done! I am going to be working on a Batman doll next and I will post it when I am finished with it.

  1. Thanks for this - very easy to make - I completed in just one day. However I reduced the pattern size by 1/4 added an extra 0.5cm seam allowance and added mini magnets inside the hands and feet so he can hang on fridges etc.
