Spiderman Doll Sew Along Day 1

Today is the first day of our Spiderman doll sew along. We are going to go over the changes that need to be made to the Molly Monkey pattern, so lets get started!

The pattern pieces you will need are as follows: head, shirt back, sock, arm, shirt front, sleeve, and leg.

The arm and sleeve pieces need to be taped together and the leg and sock pieces need to be taped together as shown above. Next we are going to cut the arm piece two inches from the bottom, this will be referred to as the glove piece. Then we are going to cut the leg piece three inches from the bottom, this will be referred to as the shoe piece. From your red fabric you will need to cut the head piece (2), the glove piece (4), the shoe piece (4), and shirt front piece (1). From your blue fabric you will need to cut the arm piece (4), the leg piece (4), the shirt back (2), and the shirt front (1).

To create the two toned front piece I took the shirt front piece (1 blue and 1 red) and I placed them on top of each other. I then folded it in half and drew a diagonal line about half way down. Cut your line.

Your new shirt front piece will now have a top red part and a bottom blue part.

You now have all the pattern pieces you need to make your doll. Tomorrow we will go over how to create the webbing look as well as the eye and spider details.
