Dinosaur Tag Baby Blanket

My daughter loves dinosaurs so I wasn't surprised when she picked this fabric out at Joann's. I decided to make a blanket for my new baby boy since I haven't really made anything for him yet. I remember how much babies love tags so I decided to make it a tag blanket.

It came out great and it was a very fast project. This is a great beginner project. I used a flannel print for the top and a fleece for the back. You will also need coordinating ribbon.

Take your ribbon and cut them into 3 inch strips, I made 10 tags for each side. Take your main flannel print, I used 1/2 a yard for my blanket, fold your ribbon in half, line the edges up, and sew in place. Repeat on the other side. Make sure you start at the top and work your way down.

Place your fleece on top of your print flannel , right sides together, and sew around the edge using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Make sure you leave a 3 inch opening at the bottom. Clip the corners, turn your blanket right side out, and top stitch the blanket using a 1/4 or 1/8 inch seam allowance.
