Pillow Cover from Dollar T-Shirt

I am redecorating my guest room but I am on a very tight budget. I have been trying to use items I already have around the house. I have a couple of spare throw pillows but they didn't match my color scheme of teal and coral. I had come across this No Sew Pillow Cover on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. The only problem was that I didn't have any fabric that matched and I wasn't going to spend $10 on fabric. I went to Dollar Tree and got a coral t-shirt in size 3X and decided to use that instead.

It was the perfect size to cover my pillow and it only cost me $1. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I took them at night. It's a actually a pretty coral with a tie dye effect. If you want to get the tie dye effect then take your t-shirt and spray it with bleach. Place bleach in a spray bottle and just start spraying away, be sure to use gloves to protect your hands. Let the bleach sit for about 2 hours then wash and dry your t-shirt.

Next you will cut your t-shirt along each side seam and along the sleeves and collar. You will end up with two pieces, the front and the back of the t-shirt.

Finally you will take the bottom of your two pieces, the finished edge, and place them right sides together. Sew them together using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. You will now have one very long piece of fabric. Place your pillow in the middle of the fabric and fold the top and bottom pieces so they meet in the middle. Using your ends tie a knot in the middle. I tucked the ends under the knot in a circular fashion so they give more of a rose effect.
