Vintage Inspired Easter Dress

For Easter this year I made my daughter's dress using a vintage pattern. I actually forgot that I needed to make her an Easter dress but luckily I was in the middle of sewing this dress when I remembered so it all worked out.  I used Simplicity 5532 and the fabric is Storybrook Patch Blue by Alexander Henry.

The front was suppose to have a cute smocking detail but I chickened out of trying to make it so instead I gathered it.

I used a light pink bias tape to finish the arm and neck holes. I was initially going to make the bias tape out of the same fabric but went with the light pink at the last minute. I'm really happy with the pop of pink.

Can you tell I don't know how to tie a bow? LOL! That's my husbands job, he gets a perfect bow every time.

I sewed dress #2 but I might try dress #3 next, I'm a sucker for puff sleeves. I'm also thinking about making the bonnet because it's so damn cute.
