DIY Felt Cookies

My daughter loves playing with her kitchen and pretend food so I decided to make her some felt food. I decided to start with felt cookies because they seemed the easiest to do. All you need is felt, embroidery thread, and an embroidery needle. You can add stuffing, I did, if you want too but it's not necessary.

This was a quick project and my daughter loves her cookies. She especially likes the different colors of her cookies.

First take your felt piece and using a round object, I used a snow globe, trace your circles using a fabric pen and cut them out. You will need two circles for each cookie. Then using a contrasting color trace and cut out any shape of your choosing. After I made these I thought about making some with letters and numbers.

Using embroidery thread in the same color hand stitch the shape onto one of your felt circles.

Just wanted to show you the back of the cookie. You don't need to place the stitches very close.

Place two of the felt circles wrong side together and blanket stitch the edge 3/4 of the way around. Blanket Stitch Tutorial Here. Add some stuffing inside the cookie and then finish blanket stitching the edge of the cookie all the way around.
