Bisquick Fish Fry

I had a craving for some fish fry today so I searched the internet for some batter recipes. I found a simple recipe that used Bisquick and beer so I gave it a try. It was the best fish fry I have ever had. The batter was nice and crispy, not soggy at all. I heated up some frozen waffle fries and we had fish and chips for dinner, yummy!

Bisquick Beer Batter Fish Fry (original recipe from Food.com)

Ingredients:
1 cup Bisquick
1/3 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 ounces beer
2 lbs fish fillets
oil (for frying)

Directions:
1. Heat oil to 375 degrees F.
2. Combine dry ingredients; add beer to get a sticky consistency for dipping.
3. Salt fish; dip in batter.
4. Deep fry until fish is golden brown.

Note: a thicker cut of fish would be more suitable for this recipe such as Snapper, Walleye White Bass White Perch etc.
