Slow Cooker Pot Roast

I wanted to make pot roast, my first time, for dinner this week and I decided to use my slow cooker.  love using my slow cooker since you just set it and forget it. What product was that the slogan for? Anyways the pot roast came out delicious, even my picky daughter ate every bite and asked for seconds.

dried basil leaves
2 lb boneless beef chuck roast
2 carrots
1/2 onion
2 celery stalks
32 oz. ready to serve beef broth
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1. Chop your celery, onion, and carrots and place them in your slow cooker.
2. Take your meat and sprinkle salt, pepper, and dried basil leaves on each side of the meat.
3. Place your meat on top of your vegetables in the slow cooker.
4. Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to your slow cooker.
5. Set the heat to eight hours.

To make the gravy after the meat has cooked take 2 Tbsp of cornstarch and mix it with 1/4 cup water until no clumps remain. Add this and half of the broth to a saucepan. Bring it to a boil on medium heat, cover and let simmer until it has reached the consistency you like.
