Adding a Watermark to Pictures

If you are a photographer or you post pictures online it's a good idea to add a watermark to them. Sometimes people will try to pass the pictures off as their own or won't give credit to you and a watermark helps to eliminate that. These are some newborn bows, tutorial here, I made my friend for her baby shower and I added the watermark at the bottom. Usually you want to add the watermark in a spot where it can't easily be cropped out but since this was just an example I just put it at the bottom.

Open your photo in Photoshop and then using the text tool add your text anywhere to the picture. You can change the font style, size, and color to whatever you like. You can also change the placement by using the selector tool. The last step is to blend the text in to your background picture. To do this go to Layer > Layer style > Blending options. Change the opacity, enter new percentage or drag the bar, until your watermark looks the way you want it to. When you save your image just make sure you change the file type from .psd, it's chosen by default, to .jpeg or .gif so it's supported everywhere.
