Fooz Kids

Sometimes I have to be on the computer while I am at home with my family due to my job. My daughter, like any young child, is very fascinated by it and is always trying to sneak a chance to play with it. I want my daughter to know how to use the computer but at the same time I want it to be educational, think Sesame Street not Sponge Bob. I was really excited when I got the opportunity to try out Fooz Kids. Fooz Kids is an interactive children's application that allows them to explore and discover technology (videos, crafts, interactive classroom, social media, emails to parent approved friends and family, etc) in a parent controlled and kid appropriate online environment.

I installed on my laptop, very easy to download, and I logged in right away to the children's interface. I was thrilled to see some of my daughter's favorite PBS characters, Caillou and Sesame Street, on the dashboard. I even played a couple of games, it was a lot of fun. I let me daughter play the Barney game and she loved it.

I logged into the Parental Dashboard and I saw that I could control what characters she would be able to see. This will save me the battle of trying to explain to her why she can't play the Spiderman game. Some cool social media aspects are also introduced, such as friends and email, that will be great to use once my daughter gets older. If you want to try Fooz Kids out for yourself, did I mention it was FREE, just click this link.
