Turning a Shirt into a Skirt

I came across this sleeveless shirt on the clearance rack at Macy's. I really liked the material but I wouldn't wear this shirt, it's only flattering on a teenager. Since it was only $10 I decided to buy it and turn it into a skirt.

Upon further examination it looked simple enough. I just had to remove the top part above the belt. I decided to keep the belt since I thought it would give the skirt a nice detail.

I got out my handy seam ripper and got busy ripping the seams apart while I watched TV. Sadly my seam ripper broke, sorry mom I promise to buy you a new one! I used the zigzag stitch on my new machine to stitch the top part together.

This is a front view of the skirt. Next time I will iron the fabric before I stitch it together to make it easier on myself.

This is a back view (damn static cling), I really like the bow. The best part is you can tie the bow in the front OR the back depending on your mood.
