Make your own Face Mask

When I was single I use to have facials every six months. After I got married I had them done once a year. Now that I am a mom I have them done well never. I just don't have that much free time available nor can I justify spending so much money on myself. My skin has been in need of a facial though so I decided to make my own face mask.

Before trying a new face mask remember to do a patch test. Simply apply a bit of the ingredients to the inside of your arm and wait a few hours to see if any reaction develops. Before you apply your face mask make sure to cleanse your face.

Honey-Olive Oil
Mix 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, and 1 teaspoon of honey. Apply to your face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Gently pat the face dry. My skin was soft and glowing and it moisturized my dry spots.

Oatmeal Face Mask
Mix 1 Cup Plain Yogurt, ½ Cup of Uncooked Oatmeal, and 1 teaspoon of Honey. Apply to your face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Gently pat the face dry. My skin had a light glow and my skin tone improved.  Another added benefit was that it improved the acne that I had.

      Flaxseed Face Mask
In a small bowl, mix 2 teaspoons of flax seeds and just enough water to cover. The seeds will swell and the water will become gelatinous. Spread the gel on your face. After 10 minutes rinse off with lukewarm water. This is a great tightening mask, I felt the results while the mask dried. Don't expect the flaxseed to swell very much, you will know it's ready once you stick your hand in the water and it is slimy.

      1. Thank you for posting this! My face is in dire need of some pampering. My skin is all over the place...dry, but oily and I thought I was done with the acne but I guess not.
I'm going to try the oatmeal mask. When nobody else is around of course. LOL
