Salsbury Steak

My husband grew up in Hawaii and one of his favorite dishes is a Loco Moco. Basically it's a beef patty with gravy over steamed rice with a sunny side up egg. The Salsbury Steak only takes 30 minutes to make and it's an easy recipe to follow. If you want to turn it into a Loco Moco then just add some steamed rice and some egg and your done!

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons ketchup
2 teaspoons oil
1 jar (12 oz) beef gravy

1. In medium bowl, mix beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, and 1 tablespoon of the ketchup. Shape mixture into oval patties. I usually make 10 thin patties.
2. In a nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add patties; cook about 5 minutes, turning once, until browned.
3. Add remaining 2 tablespoons ketchup and the gravy. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Cover; cook 5 to 10 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160ºF and patties are no longer pink in center.
